Come Dance in Our Brand New Ballet

Towards the end of every November Dance Studio Leeds holds a Celebration of Dance at the Chroma Q Theatre in Leeds.
We have performed there for the last two years. In 2022 we danced a beautiful extract from the second act of Giselle that Jane Tucker adapted for us. Last year Jane taught us a scene from La Sylphide which we repeated at York St John University and KNT Danceworks' 15th anniversary gala at the Manchester Dancehouse.
This year we are doing something different. We have commissioned Emily Joy Smith to create a ballet for us to perform at the Celebration of Dance. The music that Emily has chosen is Vivaldi's Flute Concerto Op 10 No 3 in D Major.. Emily introduced it to us at a workshop yesterday and it was fantastic. Although the show is on 23 Nov 2024 it is not too late for you to take part if you want to experience the thrill of dancing in public. However, if you want to come you have to bring a friend because Emily's choreography requires even numbers of dancers.
Our next rehearsal will take place at KNT Danceworks, 114 Chapel Street, Salford, M3 5DW on Sunday 27 Oct 2024 between 10:30 and 14:30. As we are a company and not a school you will not be charged for your attendance. But you must commit to attending rehearsals which will take place just about every Sunday morning between now and the performance,
Readers who attend KNT Danceworks regularly already know Emily and are aware that she is an exceptional teacher. Those who don't yet know her will quickly learn that she is special. She trained at Tring, danced the Ashton and Balanchine repertoire with the Sarasota Ballet of Florida. toured with the Vienna Festival Ballet and danced all the principal classical roles with the Moravian Theatre at Olomouc. in the Czech Republic. We are very lucky to work with her.
I have never been more excited about a piece of choreography or a performance. If you want to join in the fun drop me a line at jane@powerhouseballet.co.uk or call me on 07966 373922.
