Yesterday Amelia Sierevogel announced on Facebook that she will graduate with first class honours in costume with textiles from the University of Huddersfield.  I am no expert but I understand that this is one of the best courses in the country. Having attended  the Graduate Costume Show at the Lawrence Batley Theatre in Huddersfield on Friday and having been very impressed by all the costumes on display,   I am sure that must be right.  I reviewed the event in  Huddersfield University's Graduate Costume Show on Terpsichore on 16 June 2018.

I am sure it will not be long before Amelia is very busy but for now she has agreed to be our designer.  That is why I want to grow Powerhouse Ballet as quickly as possible so that we can stage a production of The Nutcracker or one of the other great classical full length ballets and benefit from Amelia's services while we still can.

Obviously we will need dancers to stage a show and dancers need to train together in order to form a company.  We made a good start last month with 11 dancers in Huddersfield but we need many more.  And if we are to be a company for the whole Northern Powerhouse region as opposed to Huddersfield or Yorkshire we need to recruit dancers from Greater Manchester and Merseyside.

That is why I am offering a free 90 minute class with one of the best teachers in Manchester who is really looking forward to putting us through our paces:

There will be another in Liverpool at the end of September for those who cannot make this month's class at the Dancehouse in Manchester. Wherever you live in the North, we should love to see you in The Dancehouse on 30 June at 13:30.
