Wonderful news! The Dancehouse Theatre has offered us a slot in Move It which will take place either on 16 or 23 February 2019.  That will be our first public performance and it will take place in the very city in which the English National Ballet and Northern Ballet made their debuts.

We won't have very long for our performance because we shall be sharing a stage with KNT and all the other dancer classes that train at the Dancehouse.  We therefore need something short and snappy.  I thought of the pas de six from Napoli but Beverley who has danced that work tells me that it is nothing like as easy as I had supposed.   I should be very grateful for suggestions from members of the company and indeed anyone else.

We shall make our choice in September and hold auditions immediately afterwards.   We must also think about the next work in 2020 which I think should be excerpts from The Nutcracker or maybe the whole show depending on funding and numbers.

We have to train with a will.   Our first three classes went very well and we have some more to which we can look forward after the summer.   Mark Hindle will put us through our paces at Z Studios in Liverpool on 22 Sept after which Yvonne Charlton from the Netherlands will teach us some of her repertoire.

Jane Tucker will teach us in Leeds between 15:00 and 14:30 on 27 Oct.  I hope that we shall be able to show her some significant improvement since our first class.

I have booked a studio at Yorkshire Dance in Leeds for 28 Nov at the request of Ballet Cymru who are planning a 90 minute workshop for us.   More details later.

The last class of the year will take place on 1 Dec 2018 at the Dancehouse in Manchester between 13:30 and 15:00 and we shall do something special that day.
